MATCA is governed by its principal decision-making body – the Council. The Council is responsible for the conceptual and strategic direction of MATCA and makes fundamental operational decisions to oversee implementation of the strategic research agenda and cooperation with the application sphere. The Council needs to approve the sub-projects that are carried out by MATCA.
The council chairman is Alexandr Dejneka, Ph.D. The Council exists out of nine members that represent the Academy of Sciences, international universities, small and large enterprises and public administration.

The manager of the the centre, Ing. Miloslav Klinger, manages operations and coordinates the activities of individual scientific groups within the centre. The aim of the manager is to maintain cohesion and synergy of sub-projects with the overall goal to achieve outstanding scientific quality and to strengthen the cooperation with the industry.
